Looks & sounds like a re-badged RemStar or a clone RemStar. They only sell into the US market.

Are they new ?

Anyone have any comments ?

I see lots of their gear being sold via eBay (PS eBay is a smorgasbord of CPAP devices lately since eBay got around the issue of US law & requirements for prescriptions by having CPAP sellers add the disclaimer that they now include. (But don't expect any seller to ask you for your prescription - they won't ).

My first cpap was Polaris. Simplist and cheapest cpap out there. Got an apap asap. Use the Polaris to dry hoses.

I remember a person on this board whose DME gave
her a Polaris cpap with "SoftX" (to drop the pressure
upon exhaling.)

Very soon she switched to a REMstar with C-Flex.
She said the C-Flex gave better pressure relief than
SoftX did.

C-Flex

Post by dsm » Sun Jul 17, 2005 5:26 pm

I have been experimenting with C-Flex & todate have concluded it is a great feature & in the RemStar machines is very well executed. I am now starting to reduce it though and for these reasons.

Last night I went to 3 - I normally don't hear the machine all that loudly but with C-Flex at 3 it became very loud & my wife has now asked me to revert back to whatever I was set to before.

The other unfortunate side effect was in relation to a full face mask I was trying out. It had been great and I was really pleased at few leaks were occurring until last night. With C-Flex set to three I was hearing constant little 'rasberrys' around my face as air tried to escape when the machine pump switched from exhale to full bore inhale (I am on 15cms at the moment).

So I guess I am saying that C-Flex is an outstanding feature that surely will help newcomers adjusting to CPAP but they may also have to grapple with more mask leaks depending on what pressure they are set to, what C-Flex level chosen & if they are in AFLE or CFLE mode.

Possibly if in AUTO mode (AFLE) they wouldn't get the fast run up I was getting last night (CFLE=3 CPAP=15cms) but I am staying on CFLE as part of a research commitment I have made with my sleep studies clinic. After 3 more weeks I am free to try different settings (which I will do in consultation with them). They are very pleased that I am willing to try different things out & want to help, this is really great.

Cheers
