What is going on at EBAY?

Post by tomjax » Fri Jul 15, 2005 5:37 pm

Seems that cpap listings are back full steam on e-bay.
Anyone know why it varies so much?
Looks like lately that Pap is allowed with no problem?
Yahoo auctions have never restricted them.
Saw a Breeze sell for 45.00 recently.
I still say it is not illegal to sell a cpap-

Ebay is making sellers post this um statement

E-bay requires the following statement: The sale of this item may be subject to regulation by the U.S. Food and Drug Adm. and state and local regulatory agencies. If so, do not bid on this item unless you are an authorized purchaser. If the item is subject to FDA regulation, I will verify your status as an authorized purchaser of this item before shipping of the item.

Maybe this makes everything ok... releases them from liability or something. What I wonder is how the seller is going to confirm that the buyer is authorized?
Everything that I have ever done is a pale imitation of what I had in mind...

I think it is amusing and thought provoking that you will occasionally see a listing for a practically new or in the case of one now on e-bay for one with .8 hours use.

It was bought at an estate sale!!!

Can't help but wondering if the person it belonged to had used it, his/her family would not be having an estate sale.

Lesson here?

Use PAP- avoid estate sales by your family!!!

Weight watchers

The common story I read (too common to be really true methinks) is that the former owner was diagnosed with OSA, bought the CPAP unit but within 3 (take your pick) months went to weight watchers, lost a ton & now no longer has apnea

The unit has had very little use.

Ha!
