Wondering if this is the way to go??

Post by bap40 » Sun May 04, 2008 11:33 am

Last week, I was having quite a few apneas and leaks. My titrated pressure was 10. I have the A/flex and had been using it on auto for awhile but the pressure range must have been to wide. I set it back to Cpap at 10 with horrible results, then at 10.5 ditto results. So a couple of days ago, I set the machine back to auto with pressure range of 10.5 to 14. After viewing my data (I ended up downloading on daughter's computer with XP, never got it to work on Vista) it looks as if nothing is recorded for the 10.5 pressure at all. Everything starts at 11 and does go up to 14 occasionally. Most of the time the highest it goes is around 12-13. The average % is always 11. something. The 90% is usually 12-13 with occasionally a 14, but not at a 90%.

My question is: would I benefit from a starting pressure of 11? It would be a tighter range.

Thanks

Brooke,

Encore only reports the pressures in the next largest whole numbers......so 10.5 would show up as 11. (don't ask me why)

It's also been reported that users with A-Flex seem to need a higher minimum pressure.

It sounds like something in the neighborhood of 12 or 13 is where you may need to be with your minimum pressure (or CPAP pressure).

I'd keep moving the minimum pressure up till the results get better.
