I have looked, but can't find it-- help!

Post by Julie Jackson » Sat May 03, 2008 8:42 am

I am a frequent lurker here---

I have looked trying to find a listing of "normal" ranges for the data listed on my respironics pro m-series cflex. when I am looking at the data on the screen, what would be AVERAGE for system leak (mine shows 34?) and AHI (mine shows 1)? I am just curious and I know it must be on here somehwere, but I can't find it. Plus, I have a new smart card, my old one somehow got fried & my machine wasn't holding the correct pressure. Actually, I have a theory as to how it fried--- leaky humidifier. anyway, my dme gave me a replacement machine & card under warranty, so I'm not complaining.

Thank you in advance!!

For the leak;
Each mask has it's own normal. Each mask comes with a chart that shows the exhaust rate for that mask. Anything over that number is a leak. I like my leaks to be as low as possible and usually have no leaks(straight line on the graph). The goal is to keep leaks as close to the exhaust rate as possible.

For the AHI;
Any AHI under 5 is considered normal. Some struggle to keep the AHI under 5. Some get AHI of below 1.0 nightly(I usually have AHI below 0.5)
But the goal is to keep it below 5.0

Julie,

if you can post exactly which mask and what pressure, someone can probably help you on how your leak rates are doing. Without that, we are pretty blind.
