Need advice on good sleep clinic in Austin, Texas

Post by JZ » Thu Mar 20, 2008 9:52 pm

I have a friend who is pursuing a sleep study here in Austin and she wants to know where she should go. I can't recommend the place I went to as they are affiliated with a lousy DME.

Does anyone know of a good sleep clinic here? If so, please post the information or PM me if you prefer. I would like to know why you would recommend the clinic.

Thanks.

I went to National Sleep Center for my first and second study. It's North Central Austin close to Mopac and 35th.

I'm not sure how to grade a sleep lab since it was my first time, but I have no complaints. The staff were very friendly and warm.

The accomdations were so-so, but I'm used to staying in nice hotels, so it's probably an unfair comparison.

Here's there info:

I also have little experience with sleep centers, but have found that the Sleep Disorder Center people have been very helpful and professional with me. I especially like their Nurse Practitioner.

I had both of my studies there. They are out in the Westlake area. I don't know what DME they are affiliated with, but I didn't find this forum until after I had already purchased my machine. I wasn't very well educated at that time - know lots more now from reading here. Accomodations were OK - somewhat clinical.

Many thanks to those of you who posted information or PM'ed me. I appreciate the information and will pass it along to my friend. I will also encourage her to become a member of this forum so she can go in armed with knowledge if it turns out she has sleep apnea.
