mouth breather

I breath with my mouth alot while sleeping that is why the mask works best for me. Does it matter if your a mouth breather or not to make you sleep differnt..I try to sleep with my mouth shut and I seem not to breath as hard or as deep.. just wondering what people think..

I WAS a mouth breather, but since CPAP, I'm devoted to nose-only breathing while sleeping. I wear a Tiara brand Topaz Chinstrap and it works GREAT for me.

Other people like other chinstraps.

Other people like to tape their mouth shut with tape or Polident Strips.

There are a variety of options out there. It is a rare person who doesn't do SOMETHING, and can rely on themselves not to open their mouth while sleeping.

Cheers,
Babette

Barb,

It looks from your equipment that you are wearing a full-face mask. If so, you won't want to use a chinstrap or such.

Are you asking if mouth breathing with a full-face mask matters?

Shouldnt matter since your waearing a FF mask - treatment should be the same in fact it may be better - if you have sinus issues your mouth may be more effective inport for pressure. Whatever way you can get the air in comfortably is all that matters.
