Snorban ?

I have read of a poster who uses a snoreban.
What can you tell me about it ?
Is it effective in reducing ahi ?
Does it make for more comfortable sleep in combination with cpap ?
Does it help in keeping the mouth closed ?

Any disadvantages ?

Don't know anything about snoreban, but it is mentioned here in this discussion, along with an alternative, snoremate.

I have posted several times that I use a snorban device with cpap. I seems to help me. The best way to check it out is to buy one and check it out. They used to sell them at Osco or Walgreens but I think they are only available on line at http://www.snorban.com. I haven't checked lately. I paid $35 but they are probably a little more now. It seemed to be equal in quality to a $350 device my dentist made once. Let me know if you need more information.

I saw that.

Is it to stop mouth breathing or is it also to hold jaw foward to open airway.
Was it difficult getting used to ? Do you have any AHI comparisons ?.
Did the device the device allow you to sleep on your back and give same AHI as sleeping on stomach/side ?

I haven't been on the Forum lately so this response is not timely. I have had MMA Surgery so I use the snorban to keep my jaw and tongue forward. It doesn't make sense to me to move my jaw and tongue forward by surgery and then shove it back with a chin strap. I also have had UU? surgeries so I tend to mouth breath if I do not control it. The Snorban seems to help control mouth breathing. It was not easy to get used to. I tried it once and gave up then I tried it later and used it. I have been using it for 5 or more years without problems. It is not as tight as it used to be so I need to get another one one of these days. I also started mouth taping along with my chin strap and snorban. I guess you can get used to most anything if you stay with it. I have theories, but I am not sure what it really helps but I seem to feel better when I wear a snorban at night.
