I managed to steal it to use at work in emails, but that system works easier than this system for inserting funny gifs.

Thanks!

All you have to do is hit the Img button above the box you type in and type the URL http://d21c.com/faunalove/Tiggerr/rotfl.gif then hit the Img button again and viola it is there.

CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay... What are the options to pay for this? Hmmmmm.... Do some internet surfing for charitable organizations in your vicinity. Of course, most of them will refuse you...

And GWB just vetoed the S-CHIP...

Okay! I've got it! WARNING! This is entirely tongue in cheek.....

You become an internet live porn star. I also saw this on Lifetime ("Secret Lives of Women" - very interesting show...). And that girl wasn't nearly as cute as YOU!!!! Apparently you can set up a webcam in a completely slovenly bedroom and men will pay you to be mean to them, and flash glimpses of your naughty bits at them.

Okay, that's probably not the answer...

I'm so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know just how hideous this feels. My insurance still hasn't paid for my APAP... No, your's is far worse than mine. But I do feel for you. I think it might be easier if we didn't have insurance. Then we could at least apply to DSHS/Medicare for assistance....

Ah! So he's the one to watch out for, especially in light of this post of yours:
SisterShotgun wrote:My son cannot feel when his glucose goes high or low, he used to but the longer a person is diabetic they lose this ability..So, the doctor wants him to have a Continue Glucose Monitoring System, but the blasted insurance company won't approve it.. Evil or Very Mad

Now of course since he can't feel the lows when he checks he is VERY low and on the verge of having seizures Sad But thankfully I have been able to catch him in time and shove honey down his throat.

Insurance companies Piss me off at times Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
Sorry to hear it, but doesn't surprise me. I know insurance companies have to make tough decisions from time to time, but too often they place a few dollars over the potential inherent in a young life.

In my opinion, if they're going to error, they should error on the side of compassion, and consider it an investment in your son's future potential.

Stay peeved! Harness that energy to get your son what he needs!

Don't know if this will help:

Financial Help for Diabetics:
http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/financialhelp/

"Recent state and Federal laws, however, may help. Many states now require insurance companies to cover diabetes supplies and education. The Health Insurance Portability Act, passed by Congress in 1996, limits insurance companies from denying coverage because of a preexisting condition. To find out more about these laws, contact your state insurance regulatory office. This office can also help you find an insurance company that offers individual coverage."

"The Bureau of Primary Health Care, a service of the Health Resources and Services Administration, offers health care for people regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. To find local health centers, call 1–800–400–2742 and ask for a directory, or visit the bureau's website at http://www.bphc.hrsa.gov on the Internet."

http://www.diabetesinnj.org/MAP.html

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Diabetes/ ... s/516.html

Okay, go see if any of this is useful. I googled "Medical assistance for diabetic". Not sure if any of it will prove helpful.

Thank you for the links!!

I am in the process of saving up the money to either get the system or a service dog..The service dog will alert my son if he is going high or low..The system is less expensive than the dog and more reliable with alarms.

With type 1 diabetes being as deadly as it is one would think the insurance companies would rather pay for the needed items than lengthy hospital stays. One ER visit for 4 hours usually costs over 4K..The system is 2K this would prevent the hospital stays..

I will now research the links to see if we qualify..It may be a catch 22 and we may make too much money by a couple thousand a year..

Roll the conversation up the chain with the insurance company, as well. And speak to your employer's benefits department about it. You never know. Maybe rolling the argument up might help.

Maybe if everyone reading this post sent you $20... Well, it couldn't hurt, huh?

We do not meet the limits to get assistance..Being in debt up to our eyeballs is not considered to be needy

Once we have this house rented in a few months then we may be able to buy the system and then ask the insurance to reimburse us the cost

Community Health Centers will work hard to meet medical needs, regardless of ability to pay.

Thanks Babs for sharing a great resource. It's one I should have mentioned.

That's actually what I do for a living here in Michigan. I train and place support people in Community Health Centers throughout Michigan. They're volunteers who make a one-year commitment in exchange for a small stipend and professional development training.

Federally Qualified Community Health Centers are mandated to serve anyone regardless of ability to pay. Even if you have insurance, they are the largest and the best Primary Care system in the United States, and are often able to get you what you need at a fraction of the cost.

It wouldn't hurt to check HRSA's website out.

I mean they paid for my CPAP..

John, you're a good man.

I work pretty closely with the CHC in my area - heck, the local clinic is within spitting distance of my office.

And being the Homeless Liaison for my school district, I'm always looking for some kind of help for SOMEONE.

Anyway, just wanted to say you people who staff these clinics are a godsend. I've been there myself when unemployed.

THANK YOU for all you do!!!

Thanks Babette! I do enjoy working with and helping people.

And guess what, we have even more in common. In my previous job, before I began this one, I worked around the issues of homelessness.

I was the Coordinator and Public Relations person for a consortium of 23 agencies who worked around the issues of homelessness. So I acted as a Liaison to the community, the Mayor's office, the schools, etc.

And, I'm also angry that "Dubya" vetoed SCHIP.

Hoping his veto gets overturned.

Doesn't that stink!

I had a good friend who couldn't get the childcare she so desperately needed, because her husband made $3.00/day over the limit.

I advised her to have him talk to his company about cutting his time by 1/2 hour per day. They'd come out ahead that way.

I got "Velvet Rain Drops"

and for the heck of it, I put in the name I would have had if I had gone ahead with the marriage - "Panic Queen" Now that's interesting!

I think I like Velvet Rain Drops a LOT better! Much more peaceful.
