Could someone please come to my house and shoot me and put me out of my misery?..Please, I promise the dogs will not rip you to shreds too badly
Someone told me to drink beer..Will this work as a pain reliever as well?
OUCH!!
I will now go back down to the floor in my fetal position and whine...Please pass the cheese

In my experience, the pain comes in waves. A couple of self-help things....
1. Sit in a hot tub of water (as warm as you can manage, see below) and drink beer. The beer is processed fairly quickly, the hot water raises body temp, so the process speeds up a bit. The pressure will help move the stone along. My brother in law swears by this, and has had 4 stones. (He's got nothing on me!)
Caution against water that is too hot, and if you are consuming more than a couple of beers, be SURE someone is around to monitor you and help you stand up. DON'T crank up the hot tub to 110! Blood heat or slightly higher is a good temp, so 98-100, NEVER OVER 103-104.
2. Use a heating pad on your lower back. Be sure to remove the pad every 20-30 min to give your skin a rest from the heat, then go back to the pad. Heat helps with the pain a bit.
I feel for you... I hope it passes quickly!

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.
