Thanks, Christy, but THEY are the ones who called ME and said that my blood draw results were normal, to continue w/my own doctor. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to keep the appointment or not. If I don't I can assure you they will NOT collect a penny from me for not showing up!

IF they turn it over to collection I'll just explain to the collection agency WHY I won't pay it. What? At my age they think they're gonna ruin my credit w/one lousy disputed not kept office call "fine"?? Snort!

Hubby says I should keep it. If I drive all the way in there and the NP wants to know WHY I am there I KNOW I am going to lose it and not be particularly diplomatic!!!

We are NOT getting off to a good start. The office called and cancelled my initial appointment TWICE, once w/just a morning notice for the afternoon appointment, the other w/just one day's notice. Then "I" cancelled the initial appointment since they scheduled it for the day I had to keep a clinical trial appointment and I was feeling crochety enough I preferred to keep the clinical trial appointment. I gave them better than a week's notice. Then when I do keep the initial appointment my insurance is billed $250 (I know they PAY considerably less) to ONLY SEE the NP???!!! Not the specialist, just the NP. I mean, I'm not particularly impressed w/this sleep neuro so far!! Would you be?

The ONLY thing this sleep neuro has going for her is that I met her 10 years or so ago when she first started out. She was one of the sleep neuros for our local hospital's sleep lab all those years until just the last year or two, she's been afiilliated w/an EXCELLENT neurosurgeon/neurologist specialty clinic w/a statewide reputation for years, she's very well liked by her patients and by hospital and neuro clinic staff and my she's treated my son in law's apnea for several years and he says she's "ok" (my son in law is a man of few words). When I had met her years ago she was very upfront and explained things well and answered questions pretty good but that's no guarantee she's still that way.

Anyway, gotta have the cat to the vet by 9AM to be spayed so ... have things to do - the vet clinic is only 10 minutes away but it is in the opposite direction of this sleep neuro's office. So .... I'll play it by ear.

I like others didn't know I had RLS until sleep test was done. Found out that my legs move over 210 times an hour. I've been on Requip since April of this year and have noticed vast improvement with it. I have not experienced any of the side effects, rather, only improved sleep.

Thanks, CraftersFriend.

I've finally cooled down. Managed to make both appointments - almost. The d*mn vet staff were at the clinic cleaning & feeding the overnight animals and one was up front sweeping the floor but would NOT open the door and take our cat back to a cage even tho I explained I had to be a good distance away for a doctor's appointment w/in a 1/2 hour. She told me to bring her back before 10. I was just NOT in the best frame of mind and told her I'd have the cat spayed elsewhere and left.. This was at 5 minutes to 9!

I managed to run the back roads a bit over the limit and got to the sleep neuro's office at 9:35PM. Whew! As the NP is walking me back to a room she's looking thru my chart - stops - turns and says, Oh, I'm sorry. But you were advised of your test results and told to return to your doctor's care back in July.

DUH! No sh*it, Dick Tracy! I behaved very well tho. UNTIL the desk dragon says to me with this sickening sweet smile, We won't charge you for the late cancellation since it was our fault.

I lost it then and said as SWEETLY as I could muster between clenched teeth, Oh, it just took up an hour of my time, $6 in gas, rescheduling my cat's spay w/another vet .... but then I'm just a patient, right? We all know how important patients and THEIR time are. And walked out.

You can be rest assurred my referring doctor will hear about this. And anyone else who mentions this sleep neuro's name!!!!

... and now back to Requip and Mirapex ... after I go eat dinner. I'm so hungry I could eat the north end of a south bound skunk.
