Encore Pro Smart Card Reader

I just got a Smart Card reader from ebay

I wonder if this Card Reader can be used to read the Respironics Smart Card? Anyone tried before? Does the card need a special card reader?

As far as I know, the m-series smartcard requires the DT3500 reader. It's available for only $24 from Two-Factor: http://www.two-factor.com/shop/.

I do not know whether this reader is compatible with Encore Pro. There are many types of smart card. Not all are the same. Below is the smart card reader compatible with Encore Pro.

Also you do not need the driver given by the manufacturer. Just install Encore Pro will do.

The only reader as far as I know that works with EP is the Mako D3500 from Two Factor in Hong Kong. Strange but true!

Not so strange since EncorePro provides the driver (and the driver is typically unique to a specific device)!

Two-factor is the least costly source, but there are others.
