Flexifit HC431 Full face mask?

Post by chriml » Sat Aug 25, 2007 8:48 am

has anyone tried the Flexifit HC431 full face mask? I need to get a full face mask because I have terrible allergies and I have had a cold and couldn't use my nasal mask. Before I put anymore money into masks( I have 3 now) I wanted some feedback. Thank you.

I tried the F & P 431, I liked it the headgear worked well, but my AHI got worse with it, for unknown reasons, and the last half of the nights the mask did slide around badly. Jim

The ComfortFull, worked better for me.

I am opposite from Goofproof, I had the Comfortfull and couldn't get it to stop leaking without having it cinched down so tight it wore off the whiskers on my chin Then I got the 431 and like it way better, it seals better and is more comfortable for me. Less leaks and AHI numbers are improving. I like how it fits under the chin a little. When I sleep my chin drops a bit and it seems to limit it it some.

I have a 431 that I have not used very much. It fits ok and seems to seal very well for the first half of the night and then it starts leaking and I can't get it to seal so I have to change masks. My face must morph into some odd shape after midnight as thats when all my masks start acting up. I have learned to live with it. The 431 does a better job on me than the UMFF does. YMMV jim

I used the 431 for a few days and it smashed the devil out of the bridge of my nose, but I could get it to seal well. I got a Quatro and it feels mucb better on my nose due to the telescoping support, but it leaks alot more on me, so I have to really crank down on the bottom straps.

The 431 has the better quality headgear though.

I have the 431 and I love it!! There are times in the middle of the night I will wake up to it leaking a little out of the side, but I just turn over and it stops..

I got a 432 last week, and the first thing I noticed is that the foam insert was squishing my nose. I removed the foam insert, and from what I understand, that made the mask virtually identical to a 431. I had some leaking issues at the cheeks (about 1.5" from the bottom of the mask, on both sides), so I used the world-famous tights strap, putting it across the bottom of the mask (basically over my chin) and tying it loosely up on the back/top of my head (where the mask straps hit). Works like a charm. Three nights in a row, I've had 8 full, uninterrupted hours of sleep, good stats. I also like the under-the-chin feature; I think it subconsciously reminds me to keep my trap shut. No more dry mouth. I'm lovin it!

I liked the way it felt (cooler), and the under the chin was good, Maybe when we sleep, we morph and the horn push up in the straps. Jim

I could put up with the sliding, but I was after the numbers and in about 4 days I could feel a difference in being rested, so back of the drawer it went.

431

I've used a 431 for over a year, It does leak from time to time because I move allot, but I like it. I'm a side sleeper and the way the mask flexes side to side a little makes side sleeping comfortable.

I attribute most of my leaks to my high pressure 19cm prescribed.

Tried the 432 for ONE night, no room inside with foam in (i bought a LARGE) my nose killed me the next morning.

Your mileage may vary....

I also have a 431 but do not use it due to leaks during the night.

I found the 431 fit my face better than the ResMed Ultra Mirage. The profile of the UM cuts in more along the side of the nose (too much for my face - it left bad marks for most of the day afterwards) whereas the profile of the 431 is a bit straighter and doesn't cut in so much. So each mask seems to be suited to different face structures.

It was my mask of choice for a while, but when I have a stuffy nose it doesn't work for me (and usually nasal mask people get a FF for those occasions.) The part that goes under the chin keeps my mouth closed, so it is useless when I have a cold. I have to go back to the UM.

I found the leaking was minimal and got problematic only occasionally and I move alot.
