Twilight NP/Aura gives me lower AHI

My average AHI and leak rate for the:

Activa is 3.7 leak rate 42.5 flow rate at 12cmH20 - 35

Swift II is 3.6 ahi leak rate 40.7 not sure

Soyola nasal 3.3 leak rate 39.1 flow rate at 12cmH2O - 33

Twilight NP is 1.4 leak rate 33.5 flow rate at 12cmH2O - 26

I was trying out the Activa recently to give my nare a chance to heal and even though I really liked it didn't do well with it, an average of 3.7. As soon as I went back to the Twilight NP I was getting 1.4 ahi on the first day and about the same since. I actully can feel the difference between a 3.5 ish AHI and a 1.5 ish AHI. I can tell when I get up that it was good or bad and I am pretty accurate. It is said that anything under 5 AHI is good but I can feel the difference in the under 2 AHI.

My question is this - Why does the Twilight do better? At first I thought that the nasal pillows direct injection of air into the nose was better than the nasal mask's indirect pressure. But the swift has pillows and doesn't do any better than the nasal mask. So the only other thing I can think of is the designed flow rate.

It seems that the lower the designed flow rate on the mask, the better I do.

I also seem to do better using pillows generally.

I don't seem to have any major issues of leakage with any of the masks. They all seem to do about the same (nothing is perfect)

What is everyones experience with designed flow rate vs AHI?

I don't know about the desinged flow rate effect, but when the Aura (Twilight NP, Headrest) firs appeared in 2005 those who could lick it into shape and get it to work without leaking reported lower AHIs.

I get lower AHIs with the Aura than I do with the Breeze.

Yes, absolutely true for me too.
