FIRST TIME CPAP USER

Post by Hunter1 » Wed Aug 08, 2007 7:50 pm

Last night was my first time to use a cpap machine outside the sleep lab. While I had some trouble adjusting my mask, I slept through the night.

What a difference I felt today. For 25-30 years (I am 44 years young) I have dragged and needed to take a nap. Not today. I was full of energy and have not felt this good since I was a kid.

For years doctors said I had depression. They were all wrong. I have sleep apnea and my cpap has taken the place of medications.

I purchased a remstar auto with a-flex. Did not bother with insurance. Did not want the hassel. Great machine.

Wanted to let my fellow hoseheads know I have found freedom. Life is now worth living.

Same here brother. Cpaper for about three weeks. The energy level is great and I have asked my doc to get off the depression meds. She says to wait a little while but will consider it. Im 46 and my wife swears I have had it for 15 years. So I have a little sleep debt to make up.

Hoseheads have more energy.

Hunter1,

Welcome to the forum!

It's great to hear that you're responding so well.

I'm a newbie two, been on CPAP a little over two weeks.

At 45, slightly older than you , I'm discovering that my weariness wasn't due to age. It's great to feel the energy slowly returning.

Yeah! Glad you had such good results. Welcome to the forum. I have the A-Flex too and love it. Is anybody out there getting tired of hearing me say this?

Wise choice, Hunter1. Go A-FLEX!!! Hose your way to regained vitality and happiness.

And I always thought the term "Get hosed" had bad connotations. <eyeroll>

that is good, that A-Flex is a great little machine, it is so comfortable breathing you have to check to see if it is On, last night I got a little congested had to bump the thing up a bit more.

My range is 8.0cm to 14cm and Aflex on #2.
