I've had my CPAP for about 2 months and I'm getting more used to it every night. I had some questions, but just about every one was answered as I read through these introductions. Especially interesting to me was the comment on neuopathy in the feet and legs. I've had it for several years, with no diagnosis, and I swear it is getting better since I have been on CPAP. Is this possible? Have also noticed that the leg cramps I was getting are much less. I am using one of those mirage masks and do not even know I have it on when I wake up.

Hi Rohde,

Perhaps your body is healing quicker than before? I also believe that there is significant trauma to the body due to sleep depervation and low blood oxygen levels.

What do you think?

Ted

PS I have a small amount of Peripheral Neuropathy in my legs as well, but I think it is from a back injury.

My neuropathy was diagnosed several years ago, but a cause could never be determined. I have never seen anything about it in the reading I've done about sleep apnea, but I certainly agree that there is trauma due to sleep deprivation and low blood oxygen. So it would make sense to me that the healing takes place faster, or more of it when the condition is treated.

Hi Rohde,

How have your blood sugar levels changed since you have been using the hose?

Ted

I have no idea. Have not had them tested recently, but I will at my next visit to dr. Meanwhile I am still feeling increasingly better, each day!
