Padded Material for Headgear, & "Stretchy Velcro&qu

Post by Harper » Mon Nov 29, 2004 10:05 pm

Does anybody here know the "marketing Name" for the padded material that most Chinstraps, and Headgear seem to be made of?

I once saw the Name for this stuff, but I have forgotten it. Without the "Name", I can't do a Search, & find out who sells it. I am pretty good at sewing, and think I could make/Repair my OWN HEADGEAR a LOT cheaper, than buying it from a DME!

I also have some designs for new chinstraps, etc. that I would like to try, and I can think of a lot of Non - CPAP related uses for this stuff!

Gladly, I use it for hunting gear. It is Neoprene. The is another called Goretex that is pretty good as well. Hope this helps.

Been wondering about this myself! Thanks. I (or rather my mum does) makes my own headgear as I find it virtually impossible to get any to fit me, I'm probably what you'd describe as a XS adult size; and anyway I'm convinced that the folk that design them never wear them! I've recently raken to cutting up all the various ones I've tried over the years and using the straps to make my own.
I'm sure others will find this useful as well.

Clare.
