Bugs in REMStar Auto Encore pro Smartcard?

Post by cktan » Mon Nov 29, 2004 7:03 am

When I retrieved the data from the Smartcard this month, something strange happened. The recorded date is 3 days in advance. (ie 29 Nov become 2 Dec) and the time also went wrong. (PM -- > AM). The worst thing is there is no way to correct this problem. I am not able to reset the date and time.

Anyone has the same problem

At first I thought only mine has the problem, but later found out that others also has the same problem. Then I asked the representative here, his answer is : there is a small bug in the BIOS, but he is not sure when he can update the BIOS for me. I can't find anything about this on website of Respironics. Anyone know how to update the BIOS

Thanks.

This has been discussed earlier in this forum.
Please see post entitled "RESPIRONICS REMSTAR ERROR 39 PLEASE READ" posted Nov 5th by Titrator.

I think there may have been other posts later on also.

BUG FIX!!

Post by Harper » Mon Nov 29, 2004 9:55 pm

The PATCH for this Bug, has been added to the Respironics "Software Update Website ...

http://software.respironics.com/cgi-bin ... pdates.cgi

Download this, install it, & PRAY that it doesn't FRY your Program [seriously, I don't think it will ... I just have an "instinctive Mistrust" for Computers ...]

I just asked CPAP.com, if they will eventually get a "revised CD", with this Patch integrated into the Program ... I will ... wait ... for the answer.

I don't know how the machine itself will correct this problem, or if it will ... I hope we won't have to send our Machines in, to be reset ...

That's all I know, so far ... apparantly, the Patch has just been released ... I will probably start a new thread, on the results of My "Smoke Test"

The Machine is supposed to "burp" again, on Dec. 1st, but I was told to just unplug it for a minute [or so], & plug it back in back in

I was also told that the "Correction" would erase about three days worth of Data ... but I download my Data EVERY MORNING, and shouldn't have to worry about that ... I also immediately "export" the Data to a PDF file, in case something happens to the Program's "Internal Database"

If we can get this Bug fixed, I think I will like this Software ... as it is, I don't think it will be very useful to the Doctors, but they might be interested in my Printouts ... I am saving them for my own Reference, anyway ...

PRAY that it doesn't FRY your Program
Hey, PRAY IT DOESN"T FRY YOUR COMPUTER! Respironics software quality is the worst I have ever come across. Their programmers should be thrown in jail. Give them dunce caps for now.
