I don't drool that much. I'm contemplating making a breathable chin strap for summer wear. Need advice on appropriate natural fibers. Thinking of copying Topaz chinstrap for pattern.

Someone else recommended putting kleenex in the chin area. Haven't done that yet.

Cheers,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Would you allow your family doctor to do brain surgery on you???
I couldn't agree more. Find an ENT that can give you good advice about the realistic chances that the surgery would eliminate your sleep apnea.

My ENT gave me a very similar surgical assessment except that he was quite familiar with sleep apnea and told me that there was less than a 50% chance, assuming every procedure was successful, that I could stop using my CPAP altogether. The most likely scenario would be that my required pressure would drop.

I decided against surgery. But it's hard to make those kinds of decisions without some qualified advice backed by experience.

Bear in mind that sleep apnea is far more than a sleeping disorder. Oxygen deprivation causes all kinds of mayhem, including death, heart disease, hypertension, strokes, diabetes, depression, etc. Treatment is extremely important. You've found an excellent forum to get help and advice. Stick with it and be patient; you'll get it figured out.

Good Luck!
