Respironics is recognized as the industry leader in innovation. Respironics released the world’s first commercially available Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) device in 1985 and the first Bi-level Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP®) device in 1989 as well as more recent technological firsts such as the REMstar® Pro with C-Flex™, Encore® SmartCard® Data Management System, BiliChek® Noninvasive Bilirubin Analyzer, Bi-Flex® Technology, BiPAP® Vision® Ventilatory Support System and Respironics Power Programs™ for Providers.

Respironics has four divisions: Homecare (headquartered in Murrysville, PA), Hospital (headquartered in Carlsbad, CA), Respiratory Drug Delivery (headquartered in Cedar Grove, NJ) and International (headquartered in Murrysville, PA). The Corporate headquarters is located in Murrysville, PA.

Jerry McGinnis founded Respironics in 1976. He served as President and CEO of the Company for 18 years and now serves as Chairman of the Board. John L. Miclot leads Respironics today as President and CEO.
