Bad CPAP Breath ...

Post by LDuyer » Tue Nov 23, 2004 10:53 am

Is it just me or my imagination, .... but does this cpap thing give you bad breath?! ....

I just started this thing two days ago, and have since noticed an annoying or at least a different mouth breath. ..... At first I thought it was just the garlic salad dressing I'd had on the day I first used the cpap. But it's still with me. Could this new sensation be just the garlic still wreaking havoc?

I mentioned this to my brother (he's a dentist) before. He thought it might be something to do with humidity. When you wake up sometimes sometimes with you mouth feeling like sandpaper (lovely image) you may of noticed that your breath stinks?!!... So I suppose using CPAP/BiPAP/or whatevever could have similar effect?.... Maybe try using a humidfier see if that helps.

Clare.

Clare,

Can't wait to test out your theory. Coincidentally, I just got my humidifier mailed to me, and will be plugging it in for tonite for the first time (have only been on BiPAP three days).

Thanks for the encouragement.
