Hi William,

Welcome to the forum!
I don't have the bloating, but many have experienced this. Even very recently on this forum this has been discussed. You might want to scroll down or to the next page to find it. Also you might do a search. You might consider registering as a member. It's easy and you don't have to reveal anything about yourself if you wish. The advantage is there are extra handy features. Also, you can be informed by email when there is a reply to your comments/questions. It's easy, and noone will see your email address unless you want them to.

Some people here say this bloating will subside. But I urge you to check out these other topics.

Good luck! Keep in touch.

Linda

Its Common. Its called aerophagia. If you use a full face mask, you might want to try to switch to a nasal only. Additionally, using an auto titrating CPAP might be a better solution as it only gives you the pressure you need when you need it.

If you're in love with your mask, you might also try using Activated charcoal. This is a harmless capsule that helps absorb gas/etc. and eliminate the discomfort.

It really helped me after having my gallbladder removed. The nurses kept asking me if I had passed gas which was embarrassing enough, but the discomfort from the air used to inflate my abdomen for the surgery got so bad I had to try something so I went back to that old remedy -- it's better than anything else I've ever tried. I've been on my BiPAP for just over a week and I've notice a decided increase in flatulence ( did I spell that right, the cat just looked at me cross-eyed) or gas over the past few days, so I'm going out to get a bottle when I leave work today.
