Well... I have no idea how long it's been going on, but for the last few years I've complained to my doctor about the tiredness. Well over the last summer he retired (after 4 heart attacks - he's under 50 yrs.) and a new doctor took over. I have also got hypothyroidism and I complained to his office that I was tired again and I needed my blood checked and that perhaps my meds needed adjusting again (I've been right 4 out of 5 times so far) so I got my blood test and on getting the results, yes it needed slight adjusting again, he also suggested I get a sleep test. For if nothing but to rule out the apnea angle.

Well guess what? I got apnea. After 2 tests in August and September and a few weeks later seeing the sleep specialist finally, things got rolling. The supplier I was referred to is fantastic. I got a 30 day free trial with a CPAP machine and unlimited trials of all different kinds of masks. I have a very small nose (we described it as being "nasally challenged") and a very small upper lip between my lip and my nose, we ruled out a whole bunch of masks and then tried 4 different ones. Everything from a gel like mask (can't remember the name) to a mask that went up your nose. I now have a simplicity and it works wonderfully. Much better than the others, has some problems but its been far better. I don't want to use a full mouth/nose mask. (Oh the ladies at the supplier are full respiratory specialists, not just sales people - they told me they're really bad sales people because all they want to do is help the people that come in, not just sell them the latest most expensive product).

My free 30 day trial is up next week. I've been approved by my insurance (they wanted to pre-approve first) and I go next friday to return the trial machine and mask and purchase my own machine and mask.

Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Lynne
