Lessons leaned from Respironics service on RemStar Pro 2

Hi All, I don't know how many of you have needed to service your XPAP at the manufacturer, but I wanted to let Respironics users know how positive this experience can be - even out of warranty. Two months beyond the warranty period my REMstar Pro 2 with heated humidifier fell off the night stand and...

I have to agree with Slinky that of the ones on your list, the CL2 is probably the best choice for a 1st or 2nd mask because it gives you so many options. I really believe you do better by rotating two or more masks (2-3 days at a time usually works well for me) and I have had good success with both...

Sounds like you've got some kind of infection or allergic reaction. I don't think you can "clean" it out either way, but your immune system will take care of it eventually.

You might try antihistamine if it is an allergic reaction.

Re: Still searching for masks Nasal pillow suggestions???

I am still searching for masks. Due to Rosacea I think Nasal pillows may be the the way to go. Even the petite nasal masks applies enough pressure to break my facial capillaries. By the time the mask is secure enough to prevent shifting and leaks it does a number on my skin. I definitely agree that...

Re: Mask selection - much amusement

Tried the ComfortLite. No comfort here. Tried the Breeze. OK, but leaked a bit. Tried the Mirage. Promising, but not as comfortable as the OptiLife. Tried the Hybrid. Interesting, but leaked around my beard every time I turned my head and as I'd never tried a full-face style before I found the air ...

Re: Tube over the head nasal pillow?

Hi everyone, I am currently using a swift, however, I like to switch sides when I sleep sometimes and the swift prevents this. I have a reason to believe that this is what causes my leak spikes as they never last a full minute, but are just brief. Is there a consensus about any of these masks or ar...

Severe ulcer from the mask in spite of daily soap, alcohol and hydrogen peroxide cleaning. I know this isn't helpful now, but if you cleaned your face the way you cleaned your mask, it may have actually added to your problem. Your face has lots of beneficial bacteria and natural oils that help prev...

Optilife Apology

I want to apologize to the author of the "Optilife Problems" thread from a few weeks ago who said he/she was having problems with sore nares even after extended use and adaptation time. I just started having the same problem. While I am am confident that rest and Ayr gel are the best solutions, I do...

Anyone Need a SM Swift Pillow?

Hi there.

My Swift I is just about worn out and I am getting leaks from my usual medium pillow. I traded my LG for a Med a few months ago, but I still have an unused SM.

Does anyone need the SM. I would really like to trade it for a LG.

Thanks!

Pat, Have you tried the tips on how to get the swift to work for side sleeping? The three most effective that I know of are: 1) Use a firm pillow and keep your head close enough to the edge that front of the mask hangs off when you are on your side. (Your hose should be connected on the side that yo...

Swift I and II

I am sure I missed a thread on this, but is the only change from Swift I to Swift II the exhaust ports? I need to replace the swivel hose on my Swift, but my doctor seems to prefer prescribing whole interfaces rather than parts, and I want to me sure there is no potential downside to buying a Swift ...

Dear Jsmith1984, Sounds like your major problem is mouth-breathing, rather than anything to do with your settings. I don't think side or back sleeping should matter when it comes to mouth-breathing, but perhaps someone else can shed light on that. When you open your mouth at night, you will lose the...

OptiLife Problems

Dear FreightTrain, Sorry to hear about your problems with the OptiLife, but you are to be applauded for going out and insisting on something that works better for you (after doing your best to find a good setting.) Not every mask or pillow system will work for all people. Many folks won't find exact...
