APAP set to limit at 9.5 cm went to 10.0 cm by itself, or ?
Being the curious sort, I have continued to mess around with my APAP machine and thought I would try a narrow limits setup with the lower limit at 9 cm and the upper limit at 9.5 cm. After running for a couple of hours I was awakened by an increase in pressure that didn't feel "right". I am very sensitive to pressure changes I am discovering. So I yank the card and go read it and find the machine has decided on its own, to go up to 10 cm for portions of the last 2 hours. At least that is what I'm reading. Here is my post to support this middle-of-the-night conclusion.
Isn't the M series supposed to obey the limit set when I program the Smart Card at 9.5 cm and always stay below that number? It has me a bit spooked that what I tell the machine is not necessarily what it is actually doing. However, I have no independent way to verify what I am saying so would appreciate hearing back from other M series APAP users on their experience.

PeaceSleeper - Here's what it looks like to me:
Disregard the numbers on the left hand side of that graph and look at the numbers ON the graph( 9 & 9.5). Because you have such a very narrow range set, EP had to do things that way so that you could see it stayed between 9 & 9.5. It never ventured to 10. Now, as for the order of the lines, because Max Auto CPAP and 90% Auto CPAP were the exact same value, it can't display them both at exactly 9.5 because they would be one on top of another, and indiscernible. Your Max is 9.5, and your 90% pressure is 9.5.

Additional graphics from Encore Pro.
I should have posted this initially. Clearly the 90% pressure is 10.0 cm, not 9.5 cm. And average pressure was 9.6 cm, over the max of 9.5 cm.

Ah, thank you for posting that. I had temporarily forgotten this little bit of info, because people don't often set their max or min at .5 values, but you jogged my memory. When you set an auto for, say, a max of 9, it can go as high as 9.5. I had always thought this was because 9.5 was technically a 9 value, but if it is just given, straightforwardly, .5 cms of leeway, that would make sense, and would explain what you were seeing.

That helps!
Okay, so it sounds like if I want to limit to 9.5, I set the max at 9. How about the low limit, do you know if it works the same way?
Thanks!
Mark
Thanks!

I seem to remember that these machines can go +/- 1.

Clinician's manual for the M Series Auto
Do you know if there is somewhere to download a copy of the clinician's manual for the M-series Auto? That would very likely have exactly this kind of information.
Thanks for your insights CollegeGirl!

For .5 cm settings, Encore Pro always shows the next higher full cm pressure number.
So, 9.5 would show as 10 in the reports.
At least that's the way it always HAS been.
