I can't seem to use my CPAP which is making getting better faster very difficult. There's just too much drainage and I can't breath through my nose yet. I have a nasal mask so that's the problem. During my sleep study I had 128 events per hour for well over 6 hours. I'm severe I guess. Any suggestions? Or am I just going to have to wait this out? I couldn't sleep without the APAP and was up until 2am with no signs of rest coming. So I took some Nyquil and actually got a couple of hours but felt terrible in the morning.
I'm going to the doctor today at 1pm so I should know something later today one way or the other. I'm freezing!

So Sorry that you are not feeling well!
When that happens to me, I use Afrin 1-2 sprays in each nostril at bedtime only. I've been told that if you use it once daily, then one can use it for 6 nights instead of only 3.
I also use Sudafed (if your Blood pressure can handle it). If the nasal congestion lasts more than a week, mine usually turns out to be a sinus infection. Then they give me a Medrol-Dose-Pak (steroids) and a round of antibiotics. I have a long standing history of sinus problems, which includes sinus surgery in 1997.
Once your nasal passages have opened (afrin), then it is a great time to use a sinus rinse. I use NeilMed Sinus rinse, but any will do.
Not to be too graphic here, but usually alot of sinus drainage comes out this way!
Good Luck,
Barb
