I guess I will be the better man!

Post by rock and roll » Sun Mar 27, 2005 10:26 pm

I think the mark of a man is to apologise when wrong. Since the consensus of the group goes against me, I will therefore apologise to the group as a whole for bringing this disagreement out to the forum instead of taking it private. I once fought for my nation and have health problems to show for it, in order that each of us have the right to express ourselves freely. I also believe in fighting for a just cause for others to be able to have this right. While the masses tend to follow the pied piper, sometimes as lemmings, I feel I have earned the right to stand my ground and tell another when my rights are violated. I stand by my feelings towards Muck, I still think he was out of place. Most of you know him better as he is the highest poster. I would expect most of you to side with him. I have a business to run, and much else in my life that requires my attention.

I did not post this to the list, Muck did. He did not say he would leave the list Liam, I did. I reacted to the way he demanded we stay to the thread by his rules. I did not cuss him out. I was a sailer, I could do much better than to just tell him to go to hell if I was going to cuss him out. Dante's hell is a warm place of discomfort and misery. I merely was trying to get my displeasure across to someone that I have crossed horns against in the past. I think that Muck has much to offer, and I do read his posts. But I also think he does it for different reasons than a lot of you think. I left the list for awhile after the last tiff Muck caused with me. I came back when someone argued to the list under the guise of "guest". At least I had the guts to not hide behind this mask and to stand as who I am to the list. For right or wrong, I value this list. We need it and more to help us deal with our problems. We have had a thread awhile back where many of us have health issues way beyond SA and if that were not enough, these can drag us down and make us more sensitive and irritable. I know this is the case with me, and possibly Muck, but I acknowledge this. For my being irritable, I apoligize to the group. I would hope Muck will do the same.

Very sincerely,

Rock and Roll

Rock and Roll,

It was sweet of you to do so, but I still feel you needn't apologize.
You feel what you feel. You believe what you believe. You needn't agonize over any of this. It's nice, though, knowing you value the forum. I wish you well.

Rock and Roll,
I appreciate your integrity and your willingness to apologize, but I also don't see the need for apology from anyone. I come to this forum to get/give support and get/give help. I really feel good if I can help someone and get help myself. There is no policing from anyone except the admin ( which I think is very laid back, cool ). I think that this forum is for everyone and I mean everyone. Please keep on posting

I don't do mornings !!!

Rock and Roll, I don't think there was a consensus "for" or "against" anyone. Everyone who posts on this board is a valuable participant. I hope you and Wader...and everyone else...will continue helping people here.

I agree. My posting "for" wader was in his defense, as he had posted a thread asking whether he should leave, and the only thing I'd seen from you was a demand for an apology.

I don't believe either of you should have to apologize. I believe you should go right on posting what you want to post and not let Wader stop you if you feel it's appropriate, and I think Wader should go right on posting what HE wants to post and not let YOU stop HIM when HE feels it is.

I did not actually see the initial interaction which caused the problem. I was responding to Wader's question.

And while he didn't expressly say so, I do think that by saying he would let us decide, he was saying that if the will of the board went against him, he would leave or curtail posting, or at the very least, apologize.

In any case, I'm really NOT taking sides, I'm just saying that you, and Wader (and to all of the guests out there who don't like me, me as well) have the right to post whatever you like. If it gets SO out of hand, the moderators can step in. If that doesn't happen, you've not displeased the only "net gods" that matter.

Liam, who has been in both your shoes and waders. Hip-waders, that is, Liam likes fishing.

No apologies are necessary buy, to or for anyone. The last I heard we Still have free speech in this country thanks to our Vets. Lets not dishonor them with these silly arguements. Lets allow others to have a different opinion. What does it hurt. To have a difference of opinion is just that . Its different. Diversity is what this country is about. Our founding fathers intended it that way. That no group has all the power. This difference is what seperates us from NAZI Germany. Where 1 group had all the power. Disagree and you die. Our oposition form of government is intended to insure the peace. That the prez and congress be at odds . Its what has kept us free all these years. Otherwise we would have a dictator and a rubberstamp congress. Er, we almost have that now, scary isn't it.

Cheers,

Chris
