Re: Does 10 EEG arousals/hour mean sleep apnea?

Just to underline a point robysue has made: some arousals come after respiratory effort, and others don't. The latter are sometimes called "spontaneous" arousals. You're right that it's normal to have a fair number of arousals off and on throughout the night, but this will include both spontaneous a...

Re: Bleep Dreamport Mask Solution

ChicagoGranny, I had the same problem with the Eclipse. The pull of the magnetized connection does produce an uncomfortable tug on the nostrils, at least for some of us. As for why someone would want to stick a hose on their nose: number one reason for me, no mask leaks to wake me up; number two rea...

You can also put a pocket t-shirt on backwards with a tennis ball in the pocket.

But why do you want to have your test while you sleep in a position that doesn't come naturally to you?

Re: I'm getting really mad at CPAP.com

IT has made some server storage corrections that should help with the attachment storage problem....at least for now. They are working on a more permanent solution. So for now.....I think you can post attachments. Excellent news! Do they consider allowing the moderator and her deputies to delete ol...

No connectivity problems for me. Now I'm hoping CPAP.com can solve the attachment problem.

Re: I'm getting really mad at CPAP.com

Doesn't leave me with any decent options and to be honest.....I am getting a bit burned out. Same old questions, same old responses and same old bull shit. No one bothers to really research their problems or potential solutions. Same old know it alls that think that the world should revolve around ...

Re: I'm getting really mad at CPAP.com

If all of you decide to bail and focus on a forum elsewhere, post where you go so I'll know where to look for you. I've posted for a while over on Apnea Board with the user name Dormeo. I'd find it really hard to stop visiting this forum, which has meant a lot to me, but already my effort to make t...

I'm getting really mad at CPAP.com

Despite Pugsy's best efforts, CPAP.com has not yet met two critical needs for this forum: 1. Fixing the connectivity problems, and 2. Making it possible for the moderator to delete old attachments. (Ideally, the moderator could also deputize other forum members to help with this.) What is wrong with...

Welcome! Your profile says you're using a ResMed Aircurve 10 VAuto machine. Could you confirm that in fact you're using an a ResMed Aircurve 10 ASV machine?

Re: New Member and new user of Bipap machine

Welcome! It's just fine to jump around, though it'd be helpful if you'd stay in this same thread so that people can see what your questions have been. Could you try an experiment? This is without your mask on. Put the back of your tongue up against the roof of your mouth and let the rest of your ton...

Re: Can using a CPAP for years open the epiglottis?

I doubt whether CPAP use could change the daytime position of the epiglottis -- but this is a question you should ask your ENT. If you haven't already, you should also ask the ENT about the cause of your dysphagia and the potential treatments that might help you.

Re: Respironics ASV to Resmed ASV difficulty

There's some good information here:

Also, try using the new machine during the day or evening, outside your bedroom, while you read, watch TV, or use your devices. This will speed up your adaptation.

Re: Advice for first time sleeping on airplane w/cpap?

Glad it worked out for you. In addition to an eye mask, I like using earplugs. My favorite kind are the waxy ones. They block a little less sound than the foam plugs, but they're much more comfortable for me.
