Re: Feel better with worse graphs
If your AHI and sleep quality are good, you can count your fine-tuning as a complete success. Don't worry about how your graphs look.

Re: Getting More Sleep Makes Me More Tired! Anyone Else?
Are you tired during the day, or are you sleepy? If you're tired, you might talk with your doctor about tests to see whether there's something else going on. You might also review side-effects for any medications you've started taking since you started sleeping longer. And have you tried making your...

Re: Central Airway events and AHI increasing (new APAP user)
With an AHI consistently below 1.5, you don't need to give a thought to reducing the number of CAs that you're seeing. Keep your EPR where it is if it is comfortable for you. Don't mess with success!

Re: Help Using CPAP On Flight
From CPAP.com: Here are the CPAP policies of various airlines in the United States and a link to each airline’s policy overview. If you can’t find answers online pertaining to your specific airline, equipment, or needs, don’t hesitate to reach out to the airline’s help desk, as they will have the mo...

Re: ResMed Autoset 11 Settings Optimization
With your current settings of min 4 max 7 and no EPR, you are spending a lot of the night at 7, largely due to your flow limitations. If you set your min and max to 7 with EPR of 3, your average pressure over the night will be lower, since your exhalations will all be at 4. But I'm all in favor of g...

Re: Do I need to turn off EPR and go CPAP?
Sleep HQ isn't giving me access to your charts, but given what you've said about them, I see absolutely no reason for you to stick with the changes you've tried out. Your AHI and FLs are worse with these changes, so go back to what was working better for you. Side note: Often when people turn EPR ON...

Re: Help dialing in settings
Yes, bumping your EPR up sounds like a good next step. You're still pretty new to PAP therapy, and sometimes it takes a while before it provides restful sleep. So I'd recommend you have some patience and see how things look a month or two from now. There's a decent chance you'll be feeling better. I...

Re: ResMed Autoset 11 Settings Optimization
Well that's encouraging! Stick with these settings for a few more nights and see how it goes. The next step I would probably recommend is to re-introduce some EPR. That will give you a lower pressure when you exhale (except when you're at 4), which might help with the residual aerophagia issues.

That's it; the change would give you more information. Who knows whether the information would be helpful or not; it'd have to be available before anyone could figure that out.
I hope you'll follow up on the periodic limb movement issue.

Re: Are these Central Apneas and what to do about them?
In at least some places, the CAs seem to be part of a pattern of unstable breathing. Deeper breathing (perhaps as part of an arousal) leads to a CA, there's some deeper recovery breathing after the CA, then the deeper recovery breathing leads to another CA, etc. You can also see some waxing/waning p...

Re: ResMed Autoset 11 Settings Optimization
I’d suggest you go ahead with the increase to 7 as your minimum. We can then take that as a starting point for any further adjustments. Occasionally it will make sense to cap pressure below where it “wants” to go, if it’s mostly being driven up by flow limitations and if pressure increases are probl...

Re: [Long Post] Am I getting enough sleep?
I think your best bet is to keep a written record for a couple of weeks that notes your answers to something like this list of questions: How long did I sleep last night? Did I wake up early and feel like getting up? If yes, did I go back to sleep for some additional "lighter" sleep? How did I feel ...

Re: ResMed Autoset 11 Settings Optimization
Welcome! In so many ways, you're off to a great start. You're sleeping with the machine, you have leaks under control, you're using Oscar, and you're taking an active role in making your PAP therapy work. Sleep is highly variable from one night to the next, so when you make changes to your settings,...

Re: Help dialing in settings
Your flow limitations may or may not be contributed to unrestful sleep. The best tool you have to reduce FLs is EPR. It drops your pressure when you exhale; by the same token it increases pressure when you inhale. This little increase can help reduce FLs if they originate in sagging tissues in your ...

Re: BiPap - Severe bloating no matter what I do
As you may already know, IGA nephropathy can cause tiredness as a symptom. Are you seeing a kidney specialist? Are you receiving any forms of treatment for the disease?
