slight chest soreness/shallow breathing (w/sleepyhead)

Post by dankc » Mon Mar 11, 2019 4:23 pm

anyone ever have these symptoms? i've struggled to get used to the cpap. i wake up in middle of night, with slight chest soreness and shallow breathing, and discontinue use. it takes some time (hour or two?) for chest soreness and breathing to return to normal relaxed rate. not sure as i go back to sleep.

also, i've never posted my sleepyhead. i don't know how to read it at this point. what can you tell me looking at the data? thank you kindly.

Post the data, as indicated in my signature, and we'll see.

welcome to the zoo! i don't know how to interpret sleepyhead, yet i've been here 3 yrs. not that it's so difficult' it's that i'm that dumb!

but i do know enough to arrange my charts, take a picture and post it. after that, the experts here have advised me. so do as palerider has posted. follow his link, get 'em organized and post.

oh, and please? just post them right here in the thread you've created.

good luck!

I've placed 3 days worth of charts. Most days i'm AHI somewhere in 2-3 range, but have outlier under 1 and over 4. thanks

Any reason you're on cpap mode at 4cm pressure?

Do you sleep on your back? It could be a lot of the reason for those hypopneas and other events... try side sleeping and see if it helps.

Well, ... having that machine on straight 4cm is sorta like having a corvette and never touching the accelerator and never getting out of first gear.

change your settings to auto mode. try a minimum pressure of 7 and maximum pressure of 20.

let us know how it goes.
