Re: Has it taken anyone a long time to start feeling better?
For 15 years, the only improvement I have gotten from CPAP is the AHI number. It mostly stays <5 so I guess CPAP is a good thing. Issues other than apneas keep me from sleeping well.

Re: Wellue O2Ring reports times off
My Wellue oximeter ring has not worked out well. The saturation level is low as compared to other devices and it produces reports from sleeping that do not make sense. One person suggested it is getting knocked around in my restless sleep causing it to produce false data. I have about given up on it.

AirSense 10 & 11 filter comparison
I picked up my fifth cpap machine, an AirSense 11. For the first time over years of therapy, I got concerned about a filter. As the technician was demonstrating filter replacement. I picked the filter up, lightly pulled at the fibers to find they came off the filter easily. Here's a link to a look a...

Large Leaks
I get short and long lasting large leaks often. An example is: Pressure rose to maximum 14 cm with no apnea event or large leak indicated. A large leak event on OSCAR showed 4 minutes after the pressure went to 14 cm. A one RERA appeared 2.5 minutes after that. Large leaks continued for 55 minutes w...

Re: How do I know if I am a mouth breather?
A nose breather by day, I move to mouth breathing during sleep intermittently. I know I have mouth breathed through the night due to waking with a totally dry mouth. When I rarely wake without a dry mouth, for whatever the reason, I breathed through my nose most of the night. During my second sleep ...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Would it not be so nice to have a testing device that could sample the outflow of a CPAP machine for anything detrimental to breathing, and give a readout of the problem. Talked with my new DME last week. Advice was given to hope for a DS1 not a DS2 as a replacement. DME says they have had many prob...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
The fact that its been a year and I'm still waiting amazes me. I got a phone call last week confirming my name address, etc. Maybe it will just show up unexpectedly. I actually had two machines subject to the recall but I didn't want to be greedy and make two claims. I guess I can hurry up and wait...

Re: Just Received Two Replacement DS1s via Recall - Has Anyone Else Received DS1s Instead of DS2s? New or Refurbished?
I am dealing only with Philips not a DME. The statement about no replacement for off warranty, older than 5 year old machines was said to me by a Philips rep. and appears in text at the Philips recall site yet the choice to get return payment or a replacement was made at the end of the online filin...

Re: Replacement v Return Payment for Philips recalled CPAPs
I registered my System One CPAP with Philips by telephone conversation as part of the recall process. The rep told me it did not qualify for replacement due to 1. being off warranty and 2. older than its suggested service life of 5 years. I said that I want a replacement anyway. The rep told me to ...

Re: Just Received Two Replacement DS1s via Recall - Has Anyone Else Received DS1s Instead of DS2s? New or Refurbished?
Replacement was choice for as opposed to payment for returning my Philips CPAP. Can you tell me how long I can expect to wait for the replacement? It was first claimed during telephone conversation registration that my only option was a payment for returning the unit due to its age. I told the rep t...

Re: Very High Uncontrolled Pressure ResMed Airsense
So, what you had, based on Robysue's suggestion and your fix was not a high pressure problem, rather you had a high AIR FLOW problem which made a lot of noise, and made you think that there was a lot of high pressure, but if you had a massive leak at the humidifier, then you'd actually have LOWER pr...
