Re: Very new to CPAP. Still no sleep with it. Looking for help.

The moment I fall asleep, I seem to sort of forget to breathe sometimes, and wake back up panicked. FWIW, I experienced this when I first started using CPAP. I might go through several episodes of this in a night before I was finally able to get past it and fall asleep. The good news is that I don'...

Re: Still Waking up at night

You've mentioned flow limitations a couple of times. Yours are not by any means horrible, but let me write a little bit about this subject. Some people have their sleep disrupted by FLs, and others don't. Some FLs originate in the nose, and there's not much the machine can do about those, since the...

Re: Very new to CPAP. Still no sleep with it. Looking for help.

Also 14 is pretty high pressure to wear a nasal pillow, though it's worth a try. why do you say that? i've used a nasal pillow for 8 years and much higher pressure than that with no problems. Just what I've read, my very limited experience is that it's hard to tolerate higher pressure on the nasal ...

Re: Very new to CPAP. Still no sleep with it. Looking for help.

What machine do you have? Im a week into therapy on the airsense 11 and im doing pretty good with it so far but im still waking up between sleep cycles, mostly outside of the apnea events that I still have. 14 is a huge amount of starting pressure even if you need it, it will take time to get used t...

Re: Seeking information for making a decision for UARS treatment

I’m doing ok with it, 8 nights in but still waking up multiple times.I plugged in my data to Oscar and have been comparing to my Apple Watch and I found that most of wake-ups are not related to events. Averaging 1.4 events per hour though which is normal I guess. Some events wake me up but most don’...

Re: Still Waking up at night

So I actually noticed the higher pressure was the problem with all the CA events when tossing and turning and trying to sleep. I was able to basically eliminate all those events last night by just resetting the machine so it starts off at 4 again. It seems the higher pressure when trying to fall as...

Re: Still Waking up at night

Your chart looks good! Very nice AHI (bracketing the awake events), excellent leak control, and no snores. You do have some flow limitations off and on, but I wouldn't worry about them if I were you. I think you've put your finger on something important. As you get more and more used to the mask an...

Re: Still Waking up at night

How were the Oscar results BTW, did anything stand out? Nothing of great excitement on the report. If we remove the awake/arousal false flagged events the AHI is quite acceptable. It does not help that I get sinus congestion for no reason at night in the nostril closest to the pillow, it impacts ho...

Re: Still Waking up at night

Not sure why im showing CA events when im awake, though its probably because I adjust my mask and hold my breathe, or hold my breathe when flipping positions Hold your breath for at least 10 seconds. That's essentially a 10 second central apnea. No air is moving but it is because there is no effort...

Re: Still Waking up at night

Prior ResMed machines had an internal clock that you could manually set yourself but not the AirSense 11 machines. They only have a time zone setting available upon initial setup but to correct the time now after it has been used requires a total erasure of all prior data. https://media.resmed.com/...

Re: Still Waking up at night

As far as posting my Oscar results, what screen do you guys want to see? http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t158560/How-to-post-images-for-review.html I got 1.44 CA (Central Apnea) Events per hour. Isn't this a little high? Not at all high especially since you already know that some of those flagged...

Re: Still Waking up at night

Welcome! It sounds to me as though you're doing very well for someone who is just five days in. It's especially encouraging to hear that you're starting to feel a bit better. I think your first step should be to download Oscar to your laptop or desktop computer. You'll see the link in my signature ...

Still Waking up at night

Hey Guys im 5 nights in wearing it all night. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea with 6.6 events per hour sleeping on my stomach, so I imagine other positions would be worse. I snore for 75% of the night with heart rate peaks at 109 and drops to 89% oxygen. My symptoms were severe, anxiety, depre...
