Eye Twitching After Using New CPAP Equipment
I've been on CPAP for many years. However, I just got a new one and new nasal mask. Since using new equipment i have had eye twitching mostly in the left eye several times throughout the day. I'm wondering if it's the mask or something else. Has anyone else experienced this?
Re: Eye Twitching After Using New CPAP Equipment
For eye twitching in general . . .
In very rare instances, placement of mask and straps can irritate a nerve.
More commonly, effective therapy that improves sleep and lessens events can result temporarily in a little excess cortisol to burn off during the day for a while (since it is no longer needed for the body/brain to jar itself out of deeper sleep to reopen the airway)--a good sign.
Numbers one and two in that article's list of causes are fatigue and stress."There’s generally nothing to worry about, especially if it only lasts for a short period."--https://keeyecenters.com/eye-care-blog/ ... twitching/
