Managing large leaks

Post by sleepingbetter0209 » Thu Mar 14, 2024 8:40 am

I have hybrid full face mask and I have just had two nights of high leaks- 25 and 27 ML. I tried tightening headgear but I found magnet came unattached on one side of head. I am still sort of new at this and was wondering if there is a way to insure magnet stays attached to headgear. I may be rolling over in sleep but magnet has come unattached 2 out of the last 4 nights. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Where did you get the numbers you are quoting as large leaks?
Off the machine LCD screen or the software available?

Not a fan of magnet masks... but when they're designed they expect that the mask is never too tight to pull the magnets loose. Cushions are designed to 'balloon' and create the seal... especially around the top (for full-face). Perhaps see if you can obtain a good fit with less tension?

Side sleepers and rock n roller toss n turners like us need good masks. I use F&P Vitera FF mask and have had good luck with it.. F&P makes an Evora under-the-nose FF mask that works well for some (I can't handle something touching the nose).

Anyway, everyone should have a FF mask in their arsenal for rotation or times of sinus problems etc. Resmed has the new F40 coming out... I like the Vitera... if you like nasal pillows you might like the Evora... but Resmed seems to have gone all-in on magnets. F&P avoids them like the plague. Your choice.
