About the nasal stents like the Alaxo... I have the six inch and unless you don't have a gag reflex forget it... when it passes say around four inches in you start gagging and coughing and there's no getting used to that. No amount of will can void your natural reflexes. You literally have to not have a gag reflex to live with that.
1. You can't assume that everyone else will have the same experience that you had, especially since (some/many/most) don't;

2. We can't assume that you are even using the stents correctly; and

3. However, thank you for the update.
That's a bit passive aggressive, isn't it?
Look, before posting that quick without proper reflection your template response, think a little, will ya?
This is a tube you insert down the hole. There's only one hole. There's no two way about it. I talked to them too, the manufacturers. I talked to my doctor too. Anyone with a gag reflex will react like me. So yes, I can reasonably assume that anyone with a gag reflex will not tolerate that device. Thank you very much.

While I really value your feedback in general I will most certainly call you out when needed.

Cheers,

Antoien

Technically, I believe the response would be classified as "aggressive".

Kidding, right?

Talk about
quick without proper reflection
you should have known I already have.

Anyway, my response (definitely starting to overuse those buttons) is based on the performance or observation of tens of thousands of patient procedures such as naso-tracheal suction, NG tube placement, naso-tracheal intubation, nasal approach in fiberoptic bronchoscopy, and nasal trumpet. These are all similar, identical or even more invasive than Alaxo.

Based on this experience, when I hear
when it passes say around four inches in you start gagging and coughing
this automatically suggests improper device utilization.

Could your device have been successively placed? Doubt it, but again, that side effect only pertains to you.

That said, of those tens of thousands of patients getting the above procedures, did any of them enjoy it?

Can't recall any.

Does anybody enjoy Alaxo stents and have long-term compliance?

Don't know.

Don't care.

Don't have PP, and anyway I'm retired.

I don't know the meaning of "successively placed".
In my case, as my ENT explained to me, my long palate means a very soft and sensitive area where the device, once deployed into its cylindrical mesh, causes quite severe discomfort.

Man, you may be be retired, but its quite clear you react more than you ingest.
I don't know what caused you to be so flippant and cocky sure about everything without really digging into it, but its clear you're pissed in life and taking it out here.

I respect your knowledge but your attitude can go take a cold shower.

Ah, so there are "individual differences"?

You might actually be starting to get it!

Now you need to work on accepting that fact!
