Figures in colored bars under AHI OSCAR
Figures in colored bars under AHI OSCAR
Please forgive my failing memory, I may have asked these before. I have searched here and other places but can't find answers to:
1. Why do the figures beneath Large Leak (color coded event bars) not have % signs?
2. Are the figures without percent signs percentages, e.g. .68 = 68%?
4. How do the various breathing events relate to total time in apnea?
5. Is Total Time in Apnea as important as the AHI score?
P.S. I tried to post an example of the OSCAR data within the color coded area. The attempt resulted in (Safari cannot open this page.)

Re: Figures in colored bars under AHI OSCAR
Time in apnea is rather useless, since it doesn't take into account the length of time you used the machine, let alone slept with it.
The mere fact of sleeping longer will give more time in apnea, even if the relative amount for that night was low compared to a shorter night.
I can't answer the other questions since I can't identify what you're asking about - you'll have to find a way to post your images to an image hosting site, and give us the links.

If total time in apnea is not the time you are not breathing then what is the purpose of total time in apnea?

Re: Figures in colored bars under AHI OSCAR
AHI indicates the number of individual apneas...it doesn't tell you how long each apnea was. They could have been 10 seconds or they could have been 30 seconds each. Having 3 apneas could be 45 seconds in apnea.ejbpesca wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 10:43 amIf total time in apnea is not the time you are not breathing then what is the purpose of total time in apnea?

I searched broccoli brain only to find some good things about eating broccoli.

I do not discount that my long history of sleep apnea has contributed to my short term memory loss at age 73. I cannot find a percentage of the total time in apnea during a sleep session. Should I do a calculation of sleep time and total time in apnea?

Re: Figures in colored bars under AHI OSCAR
Sure, WTF, I got nothing better to do.
OK maybe not. We're gonna go up north a bit to check the ice. I hear it's pretty safe.
That said, you'd do better using SleepHQ instead of Oscar SkyLab. Your December screenshot looks more like you let the pressure run amuck.

Just be sure it's sleep time.

Okay, just shootin the breeze. Maybe someone will chime in with how to interpret the figures in color coded bars under AHI in OSCAR. I found SleepHQ to be OSCAR in disguise.

Now that - with Rubicon's new signature - which was not added today - was really funny!

Each of the coloured bars represent the number of the stated events (per hour).
So:
.68 Clear Airway Apneas per hour
.23 Obstructive Apneas per hour
.46 Hypopneas per hour.
Doing a little math, you either slept about 9 hours, or 4.5 hours.
If you slept 9 hours, you had 6 CAs, 2 OAs, and 4 Hs, total 12 events.
If you slept 4.5 hours, you had 3 CAs, 1 OA, and 2 Hs, total 6 events.
The other two listed event types you didn't experience.

Re: Figures in colored bars under AHI OSCAR
Hey, you asked.
Pretty much, except SleepHQ allows other posters to view the file in its entirely. You can do that with Oscar, but that entails sending the whole Oscar file to a third party server, and that gets to be a little tedious.I found SleepHQ to be OSCAR in disguise.
And again, a closer look at the file only relates to the December screenshot. If you're happy where you are now, why pull the bottom can out of the bean display.
