Worsening fatigue need advice

Post by sean4123 » Fri Dec 16, 2022 6:13 pm

I’ve been having issues sleeping without my Cpap and been told I have central sleep apnea but it was only discovered after using my cpap machine, so I feel it’s central’s induced by the machine.

I cannot tolerate a central treatment machine and cannot sleep without my Cpap even if I wanted to. Issue is now I’ve developed heartburn that I didn’t have before the machine and I’m only slightly less fatigued than I was before treatment and it’s been a few years now.

I don’t quite know what to do at this point and feel I’m almost semi-handicapped because I’m so tired all the time and only in my mid 30s. I definitely cannot continue to live like this. What would you guys recommend?

A few things…

1. Read this sticky - viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEAS ... STING.html
2. Read this sticky - viewtopic/t88983/Pugsys-PointersSleepyH ... Hints.html
3. If your machine is supported by OSCAR download it and put an SD card in your CPAP to collect detailed data
4. Update your profile to include your machine information

Once you have the data posted those knowledgeable in reading the OSCAR graphs can divine truth from the data and make recommendations. Without data all we can do is guess.

For now, try taking 20mg of Famotidine or other antacid before bed to help with the heartburn.

You need to see your primary care doctor. There are many things that can cause fatigue. Maybe he can order you a blood test.

Right now, go to the sleep reports on your machine's display and tell us what your AHI and leak level were for the last 30 days.

My ResMed Escape doesn't seem to have written any data on the SD Card nor does it show me any AHI info when going into the physician settings. This is an older machine, but it seems to get me sleeping much better than my new one. Another one of my weird issues.

Sorry for the late reply on this one.

would suggest you stick with one thread going forward. it's just easier to see your answers if we don't have to look for them in more than one place.

thank you.

The Escape does not have advanced data. (Sounds like your Escape has no data.) Which model is your other machine?
