I just got back from my doctor's for my follow up visit to my sleep study. Out of the 2.5 hours I slept, I stopped breathing 75 times. I also jerked my legs 135 times. My doctor has prescribed a CPAP. What was scarier to me was the other alternatives should the CPAP prove ineffective. He talked about a tonsillectomy (I could handle that) and the most severe of all.....restructuring my jaw which would move my tongue forward and change my appearance. I'm not overweight and I'm in really good physical condition (competitive kickboxer). So I'm in a bit of a panic hoping the CPAP will work.

Hello Jeanne,
Welcome to the messege board. This is a great cpap support site.
I understand your concern about making cpap work
The good thing is that it does work, and work well. There is an adjustment period, but most take to it like a duck to water.
If you have any questions at all, please post them. There are lots of good people here to lend an answer.
