Wifi Setting on New Dreamstation Auto

Post by Dreamer351 » Sun May 13, 2018 7:35 am

Hi all,

I’m new and love this forum as it’s answered some questions I have had.

Although, can I please ask whether on these new Dreamstation machines if I have to manually set up the Wifi to my home internet.

In looking at the options on the machine there isn’t a menu to choose from.

Any ideas?

TIA

They don't use wifi...No way to set. There is a cellular modem where your DME can pull compliance data if they wish.

Hi Dreamer351,

As I understand it, the Dreamstation range comes with Bluetooth connectivity already built in. But the two other ways of connecting 'over the air' - the Wi-Fi module and the Cellular phone module - these are optional accessories.

So the first thing you need to do is find out if the model you've got has either of these optional add-ins already fitted. If not, you will have to go and get whichever one you want, and have it installed.

With Bluetooth, the instructions for starting the 'pairing' process at the Dreamstation end are on page 15 of the manual. You will, of course, need something to 'pair' with - most smart phones nowadays have Bluetooth - and you have to turn that on in your phone as well. And then wait till the two devices 'discover' each other.

Your smart phone will also need to have the PR DreamMapper 'app' downloaded to it to make use of what it gets via Bluetooth.

Be sure you are sitting close to your machine when they pair.

It's Bluetooth you don't have to be close for it to work.. Within 30ft and you'll be fine ..

My DreamStation DS900 ASV machine has built-in Bluetooth. The range is limited and can't reach my desktop about 20 feet away but it does connect to my iPhone.
I can't speak for other models in the DreamStation line.

If you want to use wi fi, you need to purchase a Toshiba Flash Air card. I use them in our machines to transfer data to my computer so I can track how effective our treatment is.

All humour aside, the PR manual says this about Bluetooth:

"Note: Pairing works best when your therapy device and mobile device are in the same room."

Thanks for all the replies peeps.

Yep definitely have the celluar modem as I had to pay and extra $50 for it.

The issue is how do I know when the DME remote in? I tried to place a manual call but it hand me error code 3 from memory.

They can login from their computer at any given time to switch up treatment, check your data or look at your hours.. There isn't an alert for when this is done ..After compliance is done you can disable this option from your machine ... Even if you unplug once powered back on, your machine will auto upload your data, or if any changes were made from the DME, they will now take effect..
