Gel mask liners, and gel mask sealents for leaks

Post by metallikat36 » Wed Apr 25, 2018 8:39 pm

This one just looks like overpriced aloe vere gel, which I already have and which does help somewhat with my leaks:

This one is a silicone based gel that is meant to be a little tacky and seal leaks:

And this last one is a mask liner actually made out of gel:

Been trying to solve leaks with my total face mask. Mask liner from pad-a-cheek so far isn't cutting it. I also tried jerry-rigging something out of a sheet of memory foam to no avail. Slathering on tons of Dr. Bronner's magic lotion actually works okay, but is annoying and might shorten the life of the mask.

Thinking of trying the gel mask liner and the silicone gel. Particularly interested in anyone's experience with these.

Edit: Sticky honey might just help a mask seal!

What's wrong with a mask with gel built in, I have found Comfort Gel masks to be a improvement over the same regular mask. Jim

What's wrong with the comfort gel is that even with the awesome dial adjustment it presses on my sinuses enough to impact my breathing. Nonetheless, comfortgel is actually tied for my second place pick (along with AirFitP10) if I can't get a total face mask to seal well enough. The comfort gel is quite good.

Thanks, I know. I figured this is a different topic about tackling leaks in any mask in general, specifically with gels and gel liners. That's different than the other thread, which is on my type of mask specifically. I didn't want other users to miss out on potentially helpful info thinking the thread only applicable to a mask they don't have. I was also mindful to point that thread to this thread.

My Respironics Comfort Gel FF and Nasal masks don't, and never had a knob adjustment. They make Mole Skin to relieve pressure on the top of nose. Jim

Oh my bad. I got my wires crossed with the mirage soft gel, which does have an adjustment dial. Need more sleep!
