LOL...well, yeah, the therapy sure hasn't hurt, but the picture is about six years old. Linda Duyer thinks I'm a reincarnation of Dorian Gray, but I assured her that I do NOT have a picture in my attic that is aging horribly.

I'm getting to this thread a little late, but who the heck is this ED guy? Has he made a major breakthrough in CPAP therapy? Everyone is talking about problems with their "bathroom parts" so he must be some sort of Dr. Ruth wannabe? I'm confused.

I am new on this board but I have had a CPAP for several years now and only used it off and on.

I just had a neck fusion surgery and while I was in the hospital, a few things happened that convinced me of the need to use this machine every night.

I am in my 50s and had been rarely having morning wood. My libido has never waned and I have never had any problem GETTING an erection. But I have found that my ability to keep going and MAINTAIN an erection after an orgasm has decreased. In my 20s and 30s I could go two or three rounds. For the last several years I have been losing my erection after one.

Now after using the CPAP every night for several weeks, I had discovered that I'm having a very robust morning wood pretty much every day now, more like when I was in my 20s.

My question would be how to get the wife to WANT it as often as I do?

There was a study which indicated improved golf scores resulting from cpap use by those with OSA.

Thank Goodness for Sleep Apnea, I had 5 children, Without Sleep Apnea it might have been 10. That would have kept me awake at night! Jim

I'm very happy to hear this. I am 42, 5'9", 235 (highest weight of my life), high cholesterol (but not high enough for the doctor to put me on meds), and maybe high blood pressure. And I've been pretty sedentary. I started noticing my erections gradually getting weaker in the last year. Now, it's difficult, but not impossible for me to get it up. And when I do, it's probably 50% hard. Just enough to perform. I've also been off of my CPAP for the last two years or so. I think I've narrowed my erection issues down to not using my CPAP. But I certainly want to work on my fitness and cholesterol. I have a new machine coming to me next Friday and obviously I have a new-found commitment to using my CPAP.

I'm so glad to find this message board.

Welp, today's the day that I finally get back on CPAP and see if it does the trick for me. I've been more relaxed lately and have been getting a little jogging in here and there when I can. I feel like it has certainly helped the ED situation a little. So I have high expectations for pumping in some proper oxygen and sleep into my system.

After the fourth day, I thought I felt a little morning wood... or at least a little tingling or something going on down there before I woke up. I was feeling very optimistic yesterday. Today I'm sort of back in one of my funks about if CPAP will work. I just have to remind myself to stay calm and to give things time, I believe.

So, I'm finishing my first week back on CPAP. I haven't noticed significant change yet. Maybe a little. Hopefully my wife will have some free time tonight. I also know it's only been a week and that it might take more time. Plus I also need to work on adding some exercise and trying to lose some weight and lowering cholesterol. But I admit that I do worry that the CPAP won't make things significantly better for me or that I might have another issue.

TMI warning!

Well, I never had difficulty getting an erection... but I had a huge problem "getting to the end" which has improved greatly... still not as easy as when I was younger, but that's probably a boon now that i CAN "get to the end". I've also discovered Choline supplements (which I'm taking for my brain(I take Jarrow's Neuro Optimizer) and L-Citrulline greatly increase performance and engorgement. I'm taking them both for my brain therapy regimen, but..... it so happens to help the other brain as well which I can't say is a bad thing.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"

Nicholas, this whole thread is "TMI." But it's important to talk about because even though it might be embarrassing, it's a health-related issue.
Honestly, I kind of wish I had your problem. But I'm sure that the problem was very frustrating for you.

I've been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Lately, I've had moments where I felt like I was starting to slightly feel a little better, but then would end up in a funk thinking that the CPAP wasn't working for me. Fortunately, I had some stiffness this morning, which is about day 10 of using my CPAP. So now I'm feeling really confident again. It's been difficult because I want results right now and the waiting is the difficult part. And knowing that it took some people one week to see results can be frustrating when you're waiting to reach the one week mark and then you aren't quite satisfied with where you are at exactly one week. But now I'm feeling even more confident.

I guess I've kind of highjacked this thread and turned it into my own personal ED journal. But hopefully other people find this helpful. It was because I was doing web searches for CPAP and Erectile Dysfunction that I found this message board at all. So now I feel like I've found a great place for me to find people to talk to about both issues. And heaven knows, it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to talk to your friends or anyone about ED issues.

My favorite part about this thread... that it has about 25 posts and over 10,200 views.

I sure those are guests searches from google CG... Are you just trying to shame or be obtuse? Those are from 1000's of google searches that this thread probably helped out. Turn the troll knob down on your chassy CG...

Not surprising for a thread that's 12 years old. Spiders crawl the forum all the time and run up the view count.
