Resmed S9 motor replacement.

Post by hillmanant » Mon Apr 16, 2018 6:33 pm

I've scoured the internet and the forums here and cannot find a replacement motor for my S9. It's old, has 12,000 hours on it so I can't blame the motor for giving up the ghost. It started a year ago with a slight whistle but couple nights ago it turned into a pretty loud whine changing pitch breathing in to out. It's way out of warranty so I took it apart hoping there was something got sucked into it but it was spotless inside so I spun up the motor using an external power supply and sure as shit the bearings in there are shot. Anyone know where I can find just the motor, it's Incased in acrylic and not serviceable but can't find the whole unit with the 4 pin power plug. Thanks in advance for any help.

There are lots of S9 machines on Craigslist..even if you have to pay shipping. You will find many low hour machines available.

It's time for a new machine, not a repair. If you aren't covered by insurance (or don't expect to meet the deductible), you can find a refurbished one. Try Amazon, try E-bay, and try https://www.secondwindcpap.com/

Find the cheapest, crappiest S9 you can find (probably an escape) and swap the motor in from that... they're all the same.

I agree, it's time for a new machine.
Maybe even an upgrade? To an S10.
