Acne pads ok to clean face?

Post by Jerseyguy » Fri Apr 13, 2018 12:51 am

Are acne pads (salacyclic acid) ok to use for removing oils from my face for a good seal?

They're not meant for that and may dry out your face too much... following which you might opt for some lotion which could then cause your mask to slide around... why not use something a bit less focused (ASA pads are also used for Athlete's foot care) like a mild astringent... ask the pharmacist for one.

Two things to consider: the mask, and your FACE.
I use unscented/no conditioner baby wipes because they are designed to be gentle.
My face is often no less tender than a baby's nether.
When hubby wanted a Breathe Right strip to stick really good,
he used an alcohol swab. Oops, too sticky!
Next morning, the BR strip took a little SKIN off with it.
Are you ready for that?

I'm old fashioned, we used soap and hot water and a wash cloth growing up, still do. Jim

I would use a single drop of dishwashing liquid soap and some warm water to wash my face, rinse, and pat dry with a cleanish towel. Then go to bed. Cost: $0.02. I use that for my mask as well...warm water, dish detergent, use finger tips under running tap, rinse well, air or pat dry with clean cloth.

Seriously, as others seem to suggest, it isn't good to change many things, including methods and habits, when one is attempting to optimize one particular event or regimen, especially a complex and important one. Look always to simplicity first, THEN look for more complicated and costly materials and events. Hand soap, dish soap at the strongest for removing facial oils, and keep the mask clean with the same things. So far, so good for me using that orientation.
