Gottcha...

Let's get you a machine that will help you and meet the needed requirement you will face with the CDL stuff.

Without insurance footing the bill you will be better off just buying a machine ...even a gently used machine.
But it needs to be a full data machine and the S8 won't do it. Sorry...I wish it would but it won't. It does do the compliance stuff but for the CDL/DOT stuff...it can't do it.

Unless your DME happens to have a good deal on a machine that they will sell you at a discount...you will be better off to buy privately.

You already had the titration and hopefully a good recommended starting pressure. I say hopefully because sometimes the titration study doesn't get it right...speaking from personal experience in that regard.

The doctor's rules about the why they won't give you your RX until he/she sees you...that's their rules and nothing we can do about it.
They do get to make their own rules..even if those rules suck or make no sense.

I have some ideas on how to help you get started sooner but I need some rather personal information.
Information that you or I might not want to be made public here for various reasons.
So look for a private message from me in just a little bit.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

If you want to try the Eclipse mask and want a special promo code to get a little off the price...send me a private message.

We really need to try to find out the results of the titration sleep study and prescribed pressure settings if at all possible before going and recommending machine models.

The AutoSet or similar would be great if the pressure setting recommended isn't very high...might not be so great if the pressure setting recommended is high or even exceeds what those models will do.

Don't want to go advising a model machine that might not be able to do the job...waste of time and money which I am sure there's no abundance of here.

Your records are yours...you are entitled to them and that includes the titration sleep study which will have the recommended settings....so if they won't give you the official RX until you come in...and they won't tell you the pressure settings over the phone...you can make an official request for a written copy of that titration report (which you should have for your own personal records anyway) and we can read quite easily what they came up with.

Just to agree with Pugsy I was not recommending a machine at this point I was highlighting typical costs for a good machine for a person with obstructive sleep apnea with a private purchase. We would need to see the full results of the sleep study and the prescription before finalising which machine would be best. Even then we may not get it right and once you begin treatment it may be apparent a different machine is needed.

I know you weren't...I just wanted to make sure it was clear to the OP so she didn't run out and find a machine on Craigslist right this minute and end up getting the wrong machine.
You know how people sometimes are.

Chances are the AutoSet or similar will be a good fit but I hate to see someone spend money and end up getting the wrong thing...like the guy a couple of weeks ago who bought the S9 Escape off Craigslist and thought that SD card it had was all he needed. You just never know what people do when in a hurry and they don't know to check with us first.

I didn't mean for it to sound like I was slapping your hands because that wasn't my intention.

I actually might be able to help the OP out with a machine depending on what the prescribed settings might be.
It's still a maybe right now but if it works out...it's going to be a freebie full data machine with easy to obtain software and SD card.
She doesn't have bucket loads of spare cash laying around to go buying from even secondwind a gently used machine.
New from cpap.com even with a RX...out of the budget.
