Have you tried those hose cozy covers? They may help you especially when humidity is high and temperature in your bedroom is lower. It will in effect keep the hose warmer.
Yep, been there and done that and I think I have 2 or 3 of them hanging around in the cpap box. I even have a hose cozy for the short hose from the heated hose to the mask on my P10.
I have been on cpap for nearly 9 years now and started therapy long before there even was an integrated heated hose like we have now...and the only option was the hose cozy.
They do work but they add weight to the mask and for a mask like the P10 which is so ultra light...makes for the weight of the hose to dislodge the pillows sometimes. So the weight is annoying.
It's just easier to take the heated hose off auto setting and crank up the hose air temp separately. Now if maximum hose air temp didn't do the trick then I might add the hose cozy but so far cranking up the hose air temp fixes the issue for me.
It's just a winter issue anyway....bedroom gets quite cold during the winter because of old house and no insulation and all that.
I can't afford the propane to try to keep the overall temp higher and while I suppose I could use a space heater in the bedroom...I actually like sleeping in a cold bedroom snuggling under the covers...and I am afraid of fire with space heaters.

Pros and cons to all our options and we just choose whatever works best with least amount of cons.

Actually, most of the machines with the heated hoses have a feature that will regulate the humidity such as to prevent rain-out.
Actually that is the "Auto" setting and it doesn't always work so great depending on the ambient temperature of the bedroom and the humidity selected.
Speaking from personal experience here with rain out happening at the Auto setting.
This feature will allow more humidity if there's a heated hose. The fact that the feature might not work perfectly 100% of the time doesn't change that.

You might want to read your manual about what "auto" actually does or means when a heated hose is used.

You can get more humidity without using auto than you can with using auto. All depends on the setting you choose for humidity.
Now whether you get rain out or not...that's a whole different discussion.

Auto humidity...uses a predetermined humidity setting that does NOT vary....what varies is the heated hose temp in an effort to prevent condensation depending on ambient room temps.
If "Auto" gives 85% humidity...it doesn't vary the moisture content.
If "Auto" gives 80% humidity...it doesn't vary the moisture content.
Whatever "Auto" gives with an integrated heated hose depends on the brand but the % of moisture it delivers is predetermined by the manufacturer for what the majority of people are good with and that % doesn't vary.

Your response was incomplete and potentially confusing which was why I felt the need to clarify things.
You already confused one person and I wanted to make sure no one else was confused.

Yeah, I figured what the hell. I already have a headache and in a bad mood. Might as well go all out.
I gotta go find that brandy that the guy from Australia sent me...I think I could use it right now.

I know DH won't listen to me but maybe it will help someone else out.

Well, (once again) you've help me out.

I was already pretty sure that adjusting the hose temperature would not impact humidity. Which is why I asked for clarification.

But I also appreciate your explanation of how "Auto" works.

Thank you.

When I tried "manual", it didn't take long for me to realize that I was paddling up a waterfall.
I set it on Auto, and that is where it has been ever since.

I actually like the Auto setting on my AirSense and I use it most of the time on Auto (which is 85%) except in the winter when it gets really cold and my bedroom ends up in the mid to low 50s...and that's when I have to change it over to manual to get the added warmth to prevent condensation. I suppose I could maybe use a hose cozy (both long and short hoses) or barrel cozy but if warmer hose air does the trick I am good with that. Auto everything seems to work well for me except when it's really cold outside and thus makes it pretty cold in the bedroom.

I have come close to needing to adding the cozies though...sometimes a few little droplets of moisture on my nose but they don't wake me and I just barely notice them when I wake up....and that's with max hose air temp.
Now in the summer...I much prefer the cooler temps that Auto ends up giving me or even turning manual temp down as far as it will go.
There is a reason that Auto is set up the way it is....it works very well for the majority of users.

Pugsy, auto works yearlong for me; our bedroom tends to stay fairly warm,
just because the bullfrog is miserable when he's cold.
I can (and do) kick off the covers when I get too warm.
Then when he has to make a piddle run, he covers up my feet.
