Introducing myself

Post by minicoopergrl » Wed Apr 04, 2018 6:39 am

Great morning!

Im new to the boards but Im hoping to get some great advice with my Cpap and sleep apnea.

My name is Lu. Im 33 and I live in Glen Burnie, MD. I was diagnosed with SA in February after doing an at home sleep study. I also have a family history, so only time knew when I was going to get diagnosed with it.

My results from my sleep study were quite scary. It was determined that I had 80 episodes an hour  This explained a lot with the fact I always fell asleep sitting still but the wake up call was when I got drowsy while driving and couldnt keep my eyes open. My cpap has made a big difference as im now about 6 episodes an hour with the machine. I joke I put my Bane mask on before I go to bed.

Outside of my SA life, I coach club field hockey for a local University here. I have 2 kids (13 and 9) and a third big kid (thats the hubs) and our dog. I still play sports and like to have netflix binges and crafts.

Welcome! I'm a newbie too, been at this for 5 months now. I'm 32 and mother of 5 boys. My ahi wasn't as bad as yours, but I was definitely exhausted all the time like you. I'm getting mine down to 3 on average with the help of the members here. I'm sure they can help you get to an even better ahi too :D
