Whimpering... what??

Post by Cathyann » Thu Mar 22, 2018 11:07 pm

So last night I had the best night ever, or so my cpap said. Since starting therapy my ahi has been hovering around 5 with one night being 3.5. I woke this morning and it said my ahi was 1. 1! After 7 hours of sleep. I still felt crappy like I usually do in the morning so I was a little surprised considering last nights results.

Here’s the thing- my husband said I whimpered several times during the night and he thought the dog was in our bed!

I’m on a medicine that causes vivid dreams I’ve enjoyed (mostly) for 8 years. I don’t think this had anything to do with dreaming.

Has this happened to anyone?

I’m out of town so I can’t do the sleepy head thing, but with a 1 ahi would it prove anything anyways?

Thoughts?

What drug are you taking? How long have you been using CPAP?

lamictal, but not real sure what that has to do with anything. This incident has never happened before, yet I’ve been on this medicine consistently since it was prescribed to me in 2009.

Off and on for 10 years with cpap.

Forget last night and move on. Keep pets out of your bedroom.

Lol no pets in the bedroom which is why my husband was concerned.

Surely this has happened to someone before?

My husband sometimes will do it (the whimpering or sometimes talking) and he is NOT on cpap.
I think it most likely is related to dreaming.

I have on a rare occasion dreamed I that I needed to scream for some reason and I couldn't so I keep trying and a very few times I have succeeded only to wake everyone up with the scream....myself and my husband and whatever pet might have been close by.

Just because you don't remember a dream doesn't mean it didn't happen.

As for not feeling the really good numbers...dunno. I does happen though and the opposite can happen...feel awesome with some pretty bad numbers. I have done that one myself...felt amazing and thought the AHI just had to be 0.0 or something ridiculously low and come to find out it was over 10.2. Go figure that one.

Sometimes our sleep quality is just crap for reasons unrelated to sleep apnea or our cpap therapy and we feel like crap.

I wouldn't worry about it or spend much time and energy trying to sort it out because its unlikely that you can.
Now if it starts happening often with regularity once you get back home....I never worry much about anything that happens or shows up or doesn't show up in SH when not in my home environment....then you can dig deeper if you want to and try to sort it out.

Any dream that causes enough distress to make you whimper is best forgotten.
Not all dreams are entertaining.

Thanks y’all. Most of mine are pleasant but I’ve had a few like you describe pugsy. I love sleeping, I get new movies each and every
night.

And back to my 5.
