Dreamstation GO Portable vs. AirSense 10

Post by rickhowe » Sun Jan 14, 2018 1:35 pm

At home I use a AirSense 10 with a Quattro Air mask. Very happy with that. Setting 9-13 (enough to inflate a car tire admittedly), but VERY quiet. And when I travel for more than a day or two (with a carry on bag), I pack it all up. But lately I've been doing single overnights, and just put a clean shirt etc. in my briefcase. Obviously the AirSense is too big for that.

So I just got a DreamStation Go. I like the size, but I've noticed that the same settings (set by the retailer) seem to be a LOT more air coming into my face - so much that I'm actually dizzy after removing the mask. Also it's noisy. Both of which I attribute to the smaller tubing. (size 12). I have discovered how to alter the provider settings (actually pretty easy), so I've set the machine to 7-11. That seems to reduce the "dizzy" factor as well as the noise.

Has anybody else encountered similar issues with the DreamStation Go?

Wrong!

See http://www.kylesconverter.com/pressure/ ... quare-inch
Your starting value is equal to 0.13 lbs per square inch and the top value is 0.18. In other words, if that is your tire pressure, you've got a flat. As a comparison, try entering 32 (a very common tire inflation pressure) in the PSI box - look in the cm/h2o box - how well would you feel with that in your nose each night?

Sorry - being facetious. But when I first got the CPAP machine, it FELT like enough to inflate a tire!

Now how it "felt" I totally understand. I have always said it felt like hurricane force winds when I first start the night and a gentle breeze the next morning. I know they aren't hurricane force winds but man sometimes it does feel like what I think hurricane winds might feel.

What you felt was fan air. Like a dog with his head hanging out of a car window, at about 10 mph.

Wouldn't the AirMini be more similar to your home unit, Airsense 10 autoset?
