Anyone want a free Amara View cushion?
Anyone want a free Amara View cushion?
Someone donated several Amara View cushions...I haven't yet did an inventory of sizes but will get that done tomorrow.
They are new but not in original package.
This is what it is.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... shion.html
Send me a private message with your size requested and I will see if I have your size.
Free...only thing I ask is reimburse my postage costs if you can. I send so much stuff out all the time that it adds up.
If you are short on funds...that's okay. Someone donated a little cash a while back that I could dip into if money is tight.
Edit....4 Mediums and 4 Smalls.
Please note....this is for cushion only. No headgear, no frame, no elbow. If you don't already have the Amara View this won't help you.

Re: Anyone want a free Amara View cushion?
bump to the top in case someone hasn't seen the freebie.
I still have 4 mediums and 1 small available.
If no one wants that 1 small it's going to a person who has spoken up for 1 small already...so waiting until Monday to ship that one out.

Out of interest, how often should these cushions be changed? (or any mask cushion for that matter).
Are there certain clues to look out for?

I have no idea how often these cushions need to be changed out.
I suspect it's probably just another one of those YMMV things.

I guess so long as there's no visible damage and you're getting consistently good data, then carry on until that changes. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Good to have spares handy though.

Re: Anyone want a free Amara View cushion?
I would usually go two to three months with the Amara View cushion before the leaks would get too bad.

Really? Does the silicone break down or something? I've had mine for 5 months and started to notice it's more prone to leaking, have reduced pressure a little bit to compensate.Okie bipap wrote: ↑Sat Mar 10, 2018 9:03 amI would usually go two to three months with the Amara View cushion before the leaks would get too bad.

Re: Anyone want a free Amara View cushion?
I think that the silicone eventually absorbs facial oils that impact the seal. Not so much silicone breaking down but just that normal cleaning doesn't get all the oils gone and over time the oils affect the seal.
Or at least that's my theory.
This is where the baking soda boil thing seems to help people prolong the life of the cushions. It seems to get the oils removed better.
See this thread.

Everyone please note....don't do the baking soda thing unless the cushion is going in the trash anyway and then only if you have a spare.
Also note that when I tried this on my nasal pillows...I ended up getting the best result when I used distilled water with my baking soda for the boiling and rinsing.
My tap water is so hard where I live that all the boiling in tap water did was deposit more minerals on the pillows.

Hi Pugsy !
I just wanted to publicly THANK YOU for your generous offer to send these extra cushions.
Many CPAP users don't have the insurance coverage to help pay for these.
What you are dong is great, and I am sure very much appreciated by the CPAP users on the forum.

Re: Anyone want a free Amara View cushion?
Last chance folks.
Smalls are spoken for but I still have a couple of mediums available.
If no one speaks up for these last mediums they will all go to the person who wanted a medium. Will save him a small fortune and that's good because he is pretty much self pay right now with an extremely high insurance deductible.
