Lumin CPAP cleaner

Post by jsielke » Wed Mar 07, 2018 9:03 am

Risking a rabid attack similar to the Soclean threads, but since the forum sponsor is selling it, maybe safe. Has anyone tried the Lumin CPAP cleaner. Uses UV light rather than ozone. Just wondering.

I haven't tried it. My only comment is to remind that it does not clean but does sterilize. Cleaning and sterilization Schedules are different and equipment still needs to be cleaned.

P.S. I admire your bravery lol

Obviously new to the market and one discussion here that I remember when it first was being offered.
viewtopic/t158537/New-product-watch-LUM ... ilit=Lumin

I have no idea if anyone has actually bought one and tried it.

To me....again same thing I think about the SoClean....killing whatever bugs (assuming it does as it says it does) doesn't equal actually removing the dirt, snot, slobber, etc that gets removed by traditional soap and water cleaning.
When they come up with a device that actually can remove the dirt, snot, slobber, etc for me so I don't have to....then I will look at it and think about it. I don't want sterile snot or slobber on my mask...I don't want any snot or slobber on my mask period.
Sterilizing/sanitizing doesn't equal cleaning and that's assuming it actually nukes anything.

My hearing aid sleeps in my Perfect Dry Lux unit,
which uses UV LED's and a small blower to sanitize and dry it.
I still have to clean my aid beforehand.
Similar to the Lumin, but way smaller. Inside is too small for p10 pillows.
About the size of a box of alcohol wipes, I bought it at Costco
for about $40. (Sold at higher prices elsewhere.)
If my budget permitted, I would get a Lumin.

Good to see companies selling worthless products like So NO Clean have Parasites sucking the Blood from their bank accounts. I hope UV is non damaging to all plastic, but remember, UV is used to turn liquid plastic repair solid. dental fillings, and to attract bugs in zappers. Jim

It's out there, dawn, hot water, and a big can of elbow grease, used correctly, then if you see a germ, (One You Don't Like) Kill It! Don't Kill the Good Ones! Jim

The Plastics and the Dental fillings that harden with UV are made to do that intentionally. Plastics can be UV stable. I would suggest contacting the manufacturer and see what they have to say about UV light exposure for sterilization.

UV light is used to sterilize water. It also kills all sorts of stuff.

I know Pugsy and myself already covered that.

At least they mainly refer to it as a 'santizer' on their web page... unlike socrap.

An adjunct to, not a substitute for, good, honest CLEANING!
