Cat chewing on my hose

I have a new CPAP machine. It is a Dreamstation.
However my feline friend tries to chew on the plastic hose all night long.
My solution? Well I happen to work in the veterinary field and found a temp solution. I wrapped the outside of the hose with bitter tasting "NO CHEW" vet wrap bandage.
Problem solved for now. I also desensitized my cat to seeing me with my full face mask on for 1 hr or so b4 going to bed for a few nights.
Anyone else have this issue??

My cats don't care to mess with the hose but sure love to chew on the power cords. :lol:
I've lost count of the various cords I have had to replace.

Had to wrap the hose in a blanket so my daughter''s 6 toed cat couldn't enjoy one of his favorite hobbies.

Spray it with something citrusy - they don't like that at all.

I agree. Find something to coat the hose with that that cat finds unpleasant (but not toxic).

Fill a spray bottle full of clear water, a few drops of dish detergent, 1/2 tsp essential orange oil.
Shake. Spray on anything off-limits to cats. They hate it. Don't go nutz. :mrgreen:

My cat likes to curl up and lay next to my face blocking the exhaust vent lol. After a while of moving her away a few times, she now respects my mask and therapy.

My cat did the same thing. I bought a hose cover and that resolved the problem. There is still a short piece of plastic hose that is part of the mask (Amara View) that is not covered. They have not bothered that piece. During the day when my CPAP is not in use, I wrap that part of the host inside the rest of the hose that is wrapped around the machine. The rest of the time that part of the hose is close to my face and they don't bother it. It seems to be when the hose is lying loose that my cat is inclined to play with it.
